Merry Christmas Round Two....

I hosted my Dad's Christmas this past Saturday. It is still a little weird that I am even old enough to do this. I have 3 kids, I have been married for 9 years and yet I still feel like I am a kid that lives a grown up life. Anyway- I make fun of JD for being like this and I catch myself thinking the same way sometimes......

We had a good time- ate tons of food- laughed about how mean we were as kids- opened presents- played Dirty Santa (I grow tired of this game by the time Christmas is over... ) and just enjoyed the company of everyone. This is the only time all year that some of them come to my house. I pretty much make the same meal (because Jacob would be devestated if I didn't make pork tenderloin) and we pretty much do the same ritual in the same order- but it always works so I just go with "if it isn't broke- don't fix it". Our family has had a rough year to say the least- but we were all here and in good health (minus poor Dad's arthritis issues- this time of year is killer on him- add him to your prayers if you think of it please).

and here goes the pictures- because I want you to have a window into my world :)

Two of the finest people I know..... don't know where I would be today if it weren't for them......

And just to show you my latest creation.... I made this topiary for the church Christmas program.... just so happens it matched my gingerbread theme in my kitchen...... hmmmmmm- that worked out pretty good ;)

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only grownup that feels like, I'm only playing grownup most of the time!

Drea I am 39 (not yet 40!!), have FOURty kids (ok...just 4), and have been married 15 years and I still feel like I'm playing grownup most of the time. I guess that's why my house is such a mess...I'm waiting for the REAL grownup to come clean it! LOL!!
