New name...

Yes- I renamed the blog per my husband's (stupid) request. It is long- but it works... for now ;)

We are getting there...

We may be slow... but we are getting there. This is our life motto- we are in a rush to make it through life it seems- but we will make it! I am ready for some slow down time. I want to soak all of life as it is RIGHT NOW in- I want my kids at this age to be forever burned in my memory. Kaylee is growing up faster than we ever imagined-they are all 3 growing faster than we can keep up with. Bittersweet I guess- I love having them small, innocent and untouched from what the world is going to be offering them in a few days. I also want Joe David and I to be as we are now- young enough to function with some energy in us to keep up- our good health- our great life. I just can't see things getting any better so I just want to stay here- here is good- there is unknown.

I know...... this is deep for me..... believe it or not... I can be serious... though I am mostly retarded mixed in with SOME seriousness and a pinch of attitude for good measure.... Yes- a PINCH.... OK.... maybe a GALLON....

This past week was another calender full- school, work, church- the norm. I started Weight Watchers Wednesday in hopes that it will help me to get back in my fall/winter clothes (Note: I haven't worn them since year BEFORE last) I don't have the maternity privilege this year. I paid the money- hoping it would be more motivating- well.. we will see.... and I will leave it at that :)

We had a singing at our church Friday night. It was good.

Saturday was escape day for me. JD had plans to be gone all day and I just couldn't take another Saturday of sitting at home (when it is just the kids and I at home- there is nothing I can accomplish) So I was out the door- went and got Kaden's 4 month pictures made- did a little shopping with Granna- to the grocery store- then back home. Sounds like so little when you write it down yet as I was doing it I felt like I had been out for hours (it was FOUR hours... FORever when you are getting that blessed double stroller in and out of the car...)

Sunday we went to the Mountain to see my Maw Maw and Paw Paw for their birthdays- she is 79 and he will be 81 in a few days. We had such a great time. The kids played and it was so wild to see them playing the same things we did as kids at Maw Maw's house- they were exploring Paw Paw's big red barn (a garage of things... some would call it junk.... kids call it treasures) rolling each other around the yard in garbage cans- I had total flashbacks when they came in talking about that one. (We tried that once on the biggest hill in the yard- in a METAL garbage can- needless to say we all needed a Tetinus shot by the time that day over!) We miss alot of the get-togethers over there- so we had a great time- only half of the family was there- but that was ok considering there are 13 grandkids- most of whom are married- and I think we are one great-grandchild #34... if I added right... the larger the family gets the smaller MawMaw's house is.....

and alas it is Monday.... PTO meeting tonight- fundraiser's to sell- wardrobes to sift through........ as I said...... we are getting there....

basics....

As in Nothing New and Exciting to report. We had a singing Friday night at Mt Pisgah- it was pretty good (lengthy for those of us with kids..... I am not complaining... I am just saying... have mercy people!) Saturday nite we ventured up to Pulaski, TN and visited church with some friends. It was a sweet service- good feeling. Afterwards we went to a Mexican resteraunt (more like INVADED... there were atleast 30 of us) It was pretty good- but new warning to my "not teenage" self... Eating fajitas at 10 pm just isn't worth it! (FYI- I am ONLY 27 ... I just have issues like I am 57) Next time I think I will skip the meal and do a dessert or something. ( A healthy person would just skip it all... but I can't be rude and let everyone else eat without me :) Sunday was a day full of GOING- we went to church at Winchester (precious people- always have been good to me), came home for 20 minutes, went to a baptizing, came back home for 1 hour, then went to our home church that nite.
After all of this you would think we just walked in the house and CRASHED (could have, WOULD have... but no...) Kyle had felt-and acted- rotten all weekend, so when he fell asleep during church we (uncle Chad ... aka Softy) couldn't bare the thoughts of waking him. So KYLE got a 3 hour nap- at 6:30pm- and wasn't tired like the rest of us when we got home. He wasn't tired until 3 AM

Needless to say- Kyle stayed home with Kaden and I today. I spared poor Ms Erin of the monster he becomes when he hasn't slept. He still is chugged up- but no fever or anything- so he will be gracing them with his presence tomorrow. On a funny note- Sunday we were at church and Kyle had a runny nose and told Isaac that he was sick and Isaac asked "Are you congested?" and he said "No, I'm Kyle". We had a learning session today (to make up for his missed day at school) and he learned our phone number in 1 hour. He says- Sree seben nine- two sree spor sree.... I only hope they can understand "Kyleinnese" as JD calls it.

Kaden hasn't had a good day today. He has a touch of the same stuff Kyle has plus has another tooth coming in. (yes- it is as fun as it sounds) He is still good though- he laughs out loud more and more everyday- which has to be the best sound ever (with each child- when they start laughing it is SO adorable) He isn't doing any new tricks- he is a little too heavy to roll just yet. We are working on him though.

Kaylee is great. She is doing well in school. She is getting more mature acting- which is sad yet good all together. And for an update on her "love" life... Davis isn't the "one" anymore.... she is sticking to her guys at Gunter's Mtn.... they are older and have so much more to talk about I guess.... she is a mess.....

Told you.... basics.... we are pretty boring.....

The boys' stats.....

We had a check up with Dr Laue yesterday. Kaden for his 4 month, Kyle for his 4 year. All was great (Thank you Lord) Kaden weighs 17lbs 2 oz and is 25 1/4 in long... Kyle was 39 inches tall and I missed the weight thing (you get a little "distracted" when you have 2 appts at one time) Kaden is in the 80th percentile on weight and 64 on height... Kyle is 20% on weight and 23% on height... Dr Laue couldn't believe how totally different they were in size! He comfirmed that Kaden is getting teeth (DUH... I gathered that with a few days of CRANKY!)
He also had to get 2 more vaccinations that I didn't know were on the schedule... AAAAGGHH I hate shots! Kyle didn't like it for Kaden- but he sure was proud that it wasn't his turn! When the appt was over , Dr Laue went to his cabinet and told Kyle it was time for STICKERS and Kyle about died.... I was like STICKERS- as in Iron Man- for your shirt.... not a shot.... All he had heard was STICK and he thought he was next! He is such a mess.....

and I need help on something... JD absolutly DESPISES my blog name.... he thinks it is stupid, blah blah blah ( who invited him to my blog ANYWAY lol...) So I am trying to think of another "clever" name.... any suggestions?

off to get everyone ready for bed.........

Monday madness....

Another weekend passed by in what felt like 12 hours. We went to the party (we being Kaden and I- Kyle was with Granna, Kaylee was with Stacie and JD was home alone not feeling well) My dad, Aunt Dee, Juliah and Tanner rode with me- so I wasn't "alone". Tim was surprised which was a shocker- we just knew he would figure it out. He was clueless to what was going on when he pulled up and saw everyone standing around a hearse singing Precious Memories (supposed to be singing- we made it through the first line before the laughter took over)

It was so funny!

Saturday we did our usual- went to Uncle Jimmy's for a swim. My kids love it over there and I love taking them. You just can't take an outdoor Saturday in August in Alabama unless there is some type of water involved! We passed up on our yard work (oh yeah... that was a hard decision!) for a day of lounging around.

Yesterday was housework for me ( I know... SHAME... on Sunday) but I woke up too late to get 3 kids (plus TWO adults) ready for church- so JD went on by himself and I got the kids ironing for the week done. (Yes- it was as fun as it sounds!) I moved Kaylee's bed around in her room- trying to figure out where everything is to go before I paint. (She got some AWESOME glitter words/artsy/whatever wall hangings for her birthday and I am now motivated to FINALLY rid her walls of the HORRIBLE pink I picked when we moved in 3 years ago... I am slow at these things OK)

We went to church last night- had Zaxby's in the car on our way home. And now it is Monday.... those 3 short paragraphs truly show how fast it all past by. Time is passing so quickly it really worries me- we have no time to sit and soak it all in. The past 4 months have passed in a whirlwind... yes 4 months... as in Kaden will be 4 months old tomorrow! I am in shock- we just got home from the hospital and WHAM he has teeth.... it is truly unbelievable!

Kaylee came in from school Friday and made an announcement.... She is "in love with Davis" she has been since Kindergarten. She acted like she was having confessional with me- and when I got tickled at her seriousness- she said "I really AM!" Oh My! Professing love at 6.... Lord help me when 16 gets here!!!

Kyle wasn't as pumped about going to Pre K today. I don't know where this came from because he was fine all last week. I think the "leaving Mom" thing is setting in. He loves his mom....I don't have to worry about him falling "in love" with anyone else for a while!

and the pic doesn't show Kaden's tooth... but it was too cute not to post!

and a new thing
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
And for my NOT ME Monday moments.....
Not me....surely I didn't take my kids to school in a pink t-shirt and blue skirt ( not JEAN... just blue) with my hair in a oh my goodness ugly bun..... Surely I did not pry my screaming son from the seat behind me this morning and surely I didn't push him out the door saying "you will be ok" thinking there was NO WAY I could get out of the car in car rider line (that was backed up due to my son's melt down) looking like Helga the Hag..... surely that was NOT ME!
NOT ME..... it had to be someone else that last week gave in to her children and fixed mac and cheese for BREAKFAST because they wouldn't pick anything else and time was of the essence....
and who could it have been that drank a not so tasty chocolate health thing for breakfast and ate a banana for a snack and was conquering her "so fat I can' t take it anymore Monday diet" to give in to a bowl of sphaghetti... with lots of cheese.... and mtn dew to drink........

Yay for Kaden....

He has now cut his first tooth! The bottem two have been swollen for a while now and tonight I could feel it (as he was trying to chew my finger off..... my washed clean finger.... I know.... it is gross anyway but that is the only way to check) I would post a pic,etc.... but as per the norm around here... no camara handy (not one that I can operate for computer purposes!) I am guessing because he is our BABY- the final baby... but all of this is going so fast- it is like he is in super-speed-get-big-quick-mode. I am not liking it! He is still a cuddle bug and he is in love with his Momma (ok- he is in love with everyone who will talk to him for 5 seconds... but I can read his eyes... I know I am #1 lol)

and a YAY for Kaylee- first grade is going great! She has already made a trip to the clinic (she had a "stomach ache" which I detect was a "I need to go check up on Nurse Kerry b/c I haven't seen her since Kindergarten". She is a ham....

And YAY for Kyle- PreK is rocking! He is doing well (as in- no bad notes home and stayed on green) Poor Ms Erin probably didn't know what she was getting into..... this is her first year as a solo teacher..... what a way to break a poor girl in.....

Bedtime is the usual hassel..... they are barely tolerable around 6 in the evening- but by 8 they have re-energized and ready to go...... it has been taking up to 3 hours for them to go to sleep. I have a feeling that the getting up early is soon to set in and balance everything out.... then again.... they have always coasted on 6 hours of sleep so I don't know why I am looking for a change now...... I like to call it HOPE!

We have a surprise party for my cousin's husband to attend tomorrow night... he will be 40 and we will enjoy rubbing it in as much as possible... there may be pictures :)-

All for now..... aren't you proud of me.... 2 posts in a week..... record!!!!!

Back in the groove....

We did it! We survived Kaylee's first day of First grade and Kyle's first day of school (pre-k). If I had any clue how to updload/download my videos on here- I would SO share! I was interviewing Kyle this morning on camara about his first day (who is his teacher, friends, what was on his back pack) and he perked up and said I have my picnic basket and my "Adabama" pack pack. ( picnic basket AKA lunch box) It was so funny- he has called it that all day! He had a great time. He was phased in today with 5 other children- 3 of which we are friends with. They all seem like babies going to school.

Kaylee also had a great day. She wasn't so thrilled about the getting up and getting ready (OF COURSE she didn't like what I had picked out for her to wear- nothing out of the ordinary!) She likes her teacher and she has been to school at New Market long enough that she is familiar with everyone in her grade- which is good- because none of her little girlfriends from the past 2 years are with her this year. She can hold her own though- she is her father's child- she doesn't meet a stranger- as long as they are a kid she will befriend them :)

As for me and Mr Kaden- we had us a good 3 hours of house work (well- Mom did- Kaden snoozed away because getting up and going at 7:30 wasn't on his things to do list) I, however, thoroughly enjoyed cleaning without interuptions. No spills, no running on just cleaned floors, no going potty in my just cleaned bathroom. Just cleaned... and stayed that way.... for 3 hours... it was quite nice :) But on the other hand- I did miss my kids. This is Kyle's first time not being with me and going from being home all day to being gone until after 3 made me feel like Kaylee was gone for the longest. But back to the free morning- I do (guilty) say that I had a good time- just me and the vacuum LOL.

Kyle went last week to the docter for the afformentioned dreaded horrible awful vaccinations. He didn't have the total meltdown that I invisioned- but it was no walk in the park either. He had 5 yes FIVE shots- that should be illegal for one small body to get all of that in one appt. Both arms and both legs- but he had no clue what to anticipate and I tried explaining without freaking him out- neither of which I think mattered when it was all said and done. He now says he got "splinters". He was treated to some shopping at Toys R Us afterward- well deserved.

On the day of this terrible appt- there was a shiny side- my little Kaylee turned 6 years old. I still can't get that to set in. ( I am pretty sure I put only 5 candles on her birthday cupcake as well... my brain just isn't all there sometimes) I don't feel old enough to have a first grader- and I don't feel like it has been 6 years since the day the doctor told us she was a girl (we didn't find out what she was by ultrasound- we waited it out and were so thrilled when she was born- that was truly the best surprise ever!) She came into our world and it was forever changed. Her dad is truly whipped! She was a tiny (5lbs 9oz 18 inches) perfect little girl. I know- gushing over your children is what all good momma's do- but the day you become a mom is so unbelievably great- words can't get it all.
We are super proud of the boys too.... God has blessed us in ways we can never repay Him- I thank Him every chance I get for what He has given us.

Ok... now that I have about made myself cry.... back to birthday girl. She had 4 friends from church come to spend the night and we decorated cupcakes and all that jazz. We went swimming the next day and had a great time. On her actual birthDAY we went to the mall (he favorite place) and did some shopping- then did more shopping at Toys R Us. She (and Kyle) each got a Nintendo DS. (we had not gotten Kyle's birthday present b/c we were in Disney) Oh the joy of having children with birthdays that are 10 days apart.... 2 presents, parties, etc...... $$$$$

We are planning a small short trip to the Smokies for Labor Day weekend. We haven't been in almost 2 years- which is a record for us! We are going with JD's aunt and her family and a few friends. I hear the outlets calling me now LOL

Kaden goes back for a checkup on the 19th- so I will have more to report then. He is cutting his two bottem teeth- laughing out loud- he has found his hands but hasn't quite mastered what to do with them besides stick them in his mouth. He is so heavy we have to play swap-out on who holds him. And he is going bald....... which is just like Kaylee.... I have concluded that his head is outgrowing his hair :)

Off to get Kaden whom is getting pretty mad..... the TV isn't entertaining him any longer......

Take care......

Sorry for the delay....

We cannot seem to get it all together since we returned from our trip. There has been birthday parties, church, sickness..... and school starts next week! (and as I started this post- Kaden the spoiled rotten monster just started fussing again..... Granny held him for 3 hours straight yesterday and he thinks I am supposed to do that too) He isn't a monster.... he is just rotten to the core!

I will fill in details later and post some better pics- our camara kept blurring for whatever reason- but we had Granna as a backup and she got some great shots as well but I don't have them yet.

We had a blast, Kyle turned 4, we were exhausted, we were hot, and we will definitly do it again..... just maybe not in JULY!!!!
